North to St. Theresa Point
In the second week of August, Fr. Larry had a taste of northern Manitoba. He was invited to participate in a family camping retreat at St. Theresa Point First Nations at Island Lake. It was a great opprotunity to meet new friends and experience ministry in a remote corner of the province. Fr. Larry was kept busy with confessions, anointings and preaching along with visiting among the over 300 campers that pitched their tents. The event concluded on Sunday with a wonderful liturgy led by Archbishop Sylvain Lavoie who celebrated the sacraments of confirmation and first communion for many children. According to Fr. Larry, “The hospitality and the faith of the people were great gifts.”

Beatified in 2001, the holy relics (a fully intact body) of Blessed Vasyl are enshrined at St. Joseph's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
