Young Adult Ministry

The Redemptorist Youth/Vocation Ministry (RYVM) Office was established in 1991.   The goal and purpose of the RYVM office has been and continues to be twofold in nature:

To foster relationships with young adults, ages 18-35;

To serve as a link for candidates discerning a Redemptorist vocation.
In essence, the office was established in an effort to promote faith, foster responsible commitments, develop personal ownership of one’s Church, and to pursue a journey of discernment to live a life grounded in Gospel truths among Ukrainian Catholic Young Adults. The key to all this effort lies in developing effective ways to foster communication between Redemptorist community members and young adults. Personal contact, newsletters, retreats, reunions and the internet are critical in this regard. Programs such as Young Adults in Action, S.E.R.V.E., Table for Two and Dialogue have been developed over the past 15 years as means of fostering communication and community between Redemptorists and young adults.

Presently, the Youth/Young Adult Ministry and Vocation Ministry are separate offices that work independently of one another but continue to collaborate.  To meet the basics needs of the youth ministry, Michelle Thiessen has been hired on a part-time basis as the RYM Coordinator in Winnipeg and Sophia Nahachewsky as a part-time assistant, working online out of her residence in Ottawa.
